Did anyone pop by @thinkspace_art tonight for Kelly Vivanco’s solo? There were so many charming paintings ranging from figurative pieces, to portraits, and quirky little sculptures. Here are some of my favorites! @verpabunny

I remember as a kid growing up in Singapore, really loving visits to Haw Par Villa. They have the weirdest, surrealistic statues there, depicting scenes of various tortures one can expect to find in the 18 levels of Chinese hell; to an array of Asian deities, as well as very strange human bodied, animal headed sculptures set in different stories that cover issues of morality.
Today, the grandeur of the once popular tourist attraction is long gone. The statues are still there though, calling out to the unfamiliar with its enigmatic allure, remaining in await for those seeking some nostalgia.
